Where are you located? (state/zip code) I can't personally get you on, I'm still needing help ourselves with it. We do have one though, trying to get another one that is more reliable.
Thanks!! No one in the family was in those areas during the war thankfully. I was going to ask, because of the nature of the surgery you should be able to get medical transportation covered (it's usually a taxi) & would cover you both for the trip. Also there are places that contract w/ the hospital for reduced rates, and occasionally free to you (covered through Ins.) Also have you contacted the EDS or Chiari national org to see if they have any assistance they can possibly offer or connect you with?
One thing I am still needing, is a vehicle donated in really good condition. Preferably a van or sedan, or SUV. Right now we have a Jeep Liberty that we love but only one vehicle and since my husband and I are separated we share it, majority of the time though it stays with him because I am home. We can't take out Jeep out of town really because it has to many engine trouble etc. I need something that will be able to go many miles and lots of hwy driving, that has good A/C and tires.
Hi~I'll be praying for you with your up coming surgeries etc. That has to be a lot to go through. It's interesting that you mentioned the Chiari thing because my genetics doctor wanted me to go to Phx and get a standing MRI to check for chiari malformations, since nothing ever get's rid of my migraines at all and it's been over 7 yrs now. What type of help are you needing w/ regard to your surgeries?
Had a very hard day today....just emotionally charged. Putting it mildly. How was all of your day? Anyone get any help they've been working on or get any thing headed in a positive direction?
Hi, I can totally understand that when you are down to only one vehicle. That is where we are at too. For medicade you are able to have medical transportation in Springfield, MO (or any part of MO) you just have to set it up. It's generally a taxi that comes for you & if you are needing help, when you call the member's services number on your card, they give you different options that you are needing to do. One of the options is transportation. Doesn't matter where you live, or if you are just going across town or to a different town etc. As long as that doctor's appointment is verifiable for them, they will take you. It's a part of the insurance and you will not have to pay extra for it. I am sorry about you truck. Which shop is it in, one there locally? Did they already fix it for you or are they still going to? Are you waiting on a part?
Hi boulderdodge, I am so sorry to hear about your bout with cancer. What type and how did they treat it. What type of insurance do you have now for all of that? Are you getting any state assistance or disability? Is your family & grandkids also in CO? What part are you, and what part are they?
I found this resource, and wanted to share~ incase there are any single mom's out there. You might have to pick through this, and see what fits & what doesn't. Even if someone isn't able to help you directly, sometimes just by asking someone if they possibly know of any other resources you might be able to try in the community that maybe aren't listed~once in a blue moon someone knows of some new grassroots new org or group/ministry etc. You never know. It's worth a shot. ...
Just a suggestion~ but if you are trying to go from FL to MS, wouldn't it be better for you to try and keep your car w/ you as long as you can until you can get to that program, and get out and they are able to help you w/ placement and any programs on trying to get into a home? I think w/ the kids & all it will be so much easier if you are also not having to depend on someone else for rides etc on top of everything else. I think your intention is good because you know you'd have fast cash~but honestly, in the long run it would be better to wait I think~just an opinion. (besides if you had to move again etc) Also I found this for you. You can sort through it all. Did you call any of those places from yesterday? ...
Benbelle~what kind of insurance do you have for the doctor? Are you on state assistance?
Let me know which churches you want to try and we'll see if we can't get someone also to help screen in your windows etc. If not from the church one of your community orgs.
Sure. I wanted to tell you also before you settle in to a certain place, because I know it's going to cost money to get there and set up etc, plus your going to be needing to save up anything you can get to help you get back on your feet. I really want you to think also about the economy in whatever the places are they you are considering moving to. Also find places that have the kind of vocational/tech and career schools that are really reputable and will also have programs w/ job placement. Make sure they do or don't even commit to them. ...There are other's here but these are for that area around where the Faith shelter program place in in MS. I al just really want you to make sure they have good school programs for your kids etc. If you can get into a program like that Faith House type thing, they will make sure you have food stamps etc, and things to make sure you actually have resources and not just turn you out on the street. You might have to suck up some of the ways you'd like for things to be and just go with the flow for a bit, but if someone is willing to help, and they have the connections to do it ~it can really make a difference. Also if you go through the programs and finish them other places in the community are more apt to help a young mom w/ two little babies you know what I mean if they know you are doing all that you can on your end to turn things around. I want to give you my email and please write me any time. I don't know how often I'll be on here. ...You are doing good, and smarter than most, believe me. You are a strong young woman and putting your children's first...the world would be a much better place if everyone did that. Me included. I was a 'ok/good' mom with my older son in many ways but in more ways I made way to many mistakes that he had to pay for. It wasn't right or fair to him. I was a single mom for 8 yrs, before I married my husband...and when our youngest was born with all his critical health issues, that sobered me up fast to the things I'd been doing and living wrong. I am a much better mom now than I had been before...I know God forgives me, but still. It's a hard pill to swallow. So just keep your head up and stay focused on those little children. You are going to be ok. Write me soon....I'll help you as much as I can. I know other's here will too.
Ok, now take a little time and go through this list. Start at the bottom w/ Vickburg...they have one that is 30 days. I don't know about availability but it's worth a shot. You might need to do a intake and get on a list. ... but the best place to go is somewhere they will let you stay a little longer than 30 days, unless they help you get into some other type of transitional or reduced cost apartment or program. I don't know how to do the talking one on one, but if you can, if it's like a PM do that.
Is your license only good for one state? It's pretty easy to transfer to another state though through reciprocity and the state Board of Cosmetology requirements for that state right?
Well I'm all the way over here in Arizona. So I have been looking like crazy at all the different transitional housing places...and trying to find some that will be a minimum or 30 days or preferably longer. Like the one I was in. I'll try to show you the one I was in here in Tucson. If we can find you a place like that, where you have your own, or just you and one room mate type place that would be better if possible that the ones w/ a lot of people. I'm still checking. What would the furthest place you'd want to go. Usually if you have a place set up to go to they can help you w/ travel expenses.
Do you want to go to Mississippi? Do you know where Vicksberg is? (did I spell that right?) or would you rather go somewhere else?
So where would you like to be? If you could pick anywhere...like is there a place that you always wanted to go to school, or certain felid you wanted to work in? You mentioned you can help w/hair. Have you gone through beauty school and are licensed?
Hi~sorry Hopefloats for the troubles you are having. Ave May is a pretty name... so since I am new to this, even though it's a pain since you've been checking around and around~what area are you in, yes~county and what seems to be the biggest problem that you are running in to? Has it been with them, like funding or wait lists or is it more on your end as far as you don't like the place or transportation problems etc? I am just trying figure out what if anything I can do to try and help. ... I know this is about the best place to start~ and even if you have tried some, there might be more on here you hadn't seen...of if you have, maybe see if even a place that hasn't been able to help might be able to direct you to something not on the list or a church or ministry or something that possibly can help. It's worth a shot...Now, is your daughter going to be in school once the baby is born? Have you talked w/ her about getting her into a help /school/parenting & life skills program? They would be able to help her...and maybe there might be a way for you to stay together.
I got it fixed. I had to double click it for some reason. Maybe you just have a different set up.Thx.
